How to Create Your Own Tribe of Role Models on Social Media

Top Mentors and Role Models that Inspire me Daily - free steps to success printable

I wanted to share how to create your own tribe of role models and mentors through social medial.  I have received so much support from the long line of Role Models that I secretly stalk online. Ok, I really don’t stalk them but I have searched out people that inspire me and I follow them on social media, it can’t get much easier than that.

I am often shocked when someone doesn’t know who Tony Robbins is, I am like how on earth, “do they live under a rock?”

Then I realize, had it not been for my sister handing me my first set of Anthony Robbins tapes some 20 plus years ago, I wouldn’t know him either. Had it not been for that one gesture, I may have never learned about role models or self-help at all, for up until this point in my life I had never heard those terms.

These days if you are online you have access to anyone and everyone so it can be hard to decide who to follow.

Now understand I am not talking about following your favorite celebrity unless they are inspiring you to work on your goals and dreams, but I am talking about finding virtual Role Models to help you stay focused and inspired every day to live your best life and Focus on your Dreams Baby.

Eventually, you begin to realize your Role Models are just like you, if they can do it, so can you!

With access to everyone on social media, you have no reason not to find Role Models that inspire you!

Granted much of the relationship will be one-sided, but I tell you, when I listen to the individuals that I follow, I often feel like they are sitting right in my living-room sharing their time and advice with just me.

Just like anything else in life, it is what you make of it.

Had it not been for the 30-day Anthony Robbins program where I listened to 1-2 tapes a day, I am certain I would not have been able to crawl out of the darkness in the aftermath of domestic violence.

If you are looking for real-life, reach out and touch you, Role Models or Mentors, then I encourage you to check out SCORE.

Just go to Google and do a search with keyword: SCORE.  They provide confidential business advice through a large network of volunteers that are experts in their field. It is a non-profit resource partner of the U.S. Small Business Administration. All Mentoring services are free no matter how many times you reach out.

Can’t get much cooler than that.

Below is a list of my current Role Models, granted they may not be your cup of tea so let me show you how to find your own.

We all know that Social Media has many ups and downs, but today we will focus on the ups.

First, you need to decide how you want to follow the Role Models that you find.

I personally love to follow them on YouTube if they have a channel or on Instagram.

You can also go to their website and join their mailing list and check out their blog.

While you can do this on Facebook too I like to keep them on these 2 platforms to make them easier to find and leave my Facebook just for the family.

I Am Woman get out of my way

Where did my obsession with how to create your own tribe of role models Start?

One day when I was doing one of my top morning rituals which are listening to something inspiring I wondered if you struggled to find your own Role-Models.

Initially, I would go to YouTube and type in keywords like Inspired – Focused – Success.

Then I would scan through the videos that would come up and check them out.

If I really loved a video I would check out their channel and follow them on YouTube.

This is how I came across some of my favorite Role Models like Tom Bilyeu and Mel Robbins along with many others listed below.

Why Share my process for how to create your own tribe of role models?

The reason I am sharing this with you is that one day I heard an interview with a gentleman and I could not remember his name but I really wanted to hear more of what he had to say.

It was months before I accidentally saw him doing another interview.

His name is Lewis Howes, as soon as I saw him again I followed his channel to make sure I did not lose track of him again. Lewis, if you ever read this someday, even though we both know you do not need to learn how to find role models, you got that one down, thank you, thank you for encouraging the masses.

Now, this has become a really great habit.  If I hear someone speak or want to learn more about someone I just follow them on YouTube or Instagram.

So how do You follow someone on Youtube?

It is pretty easy, just click below their video on the Subscribe button to the right, then click the bell that comes up, when you log into YouTube you will be alerted if they have a new video.

Make sure when you follow them to click on their image and check out their full YouTube page as you can see all the other videos they have and get access to their other social media.

I had also signed up for the email alerts but have stopped them, it was too much and since I go to YouTube often enough it was not needed but is something for you to consider.

I am a very visual and auditory learner which means I love to hear a voice with the message. Sometimes I will sit and watch and others I will just play the video as I do other things.

Only you know what inspires you so make sure you are following people that make you think and take action.

Where to Start – how to create your own tribe of role models:

Go to Google or YouTube and type in something like role-models, mentors, or success and watch what comes up.

At the time of this writing, I went to YouTube and typed in: Success.  YouTube brought up a bunch of motivational speeches.

From there just pick one that looks interesting, if you do not like it move to another one.

You can also just type in the names of people that inspire you or keep searching words like setting goals, starting a business, and so forth.

Type in keywords that you are passionate about, blogging, writing, painting, and business, you decide.

Now that you have a good listing of Role Models at least one time a day log into YouTube and scroll through the individual you are following and pick what you need that day.

Somedays you may want to learn more about the business of blogging or improving your writing, some days you may just need a plain old kick in the butt so have my go-to peeps for that too.

Next, go to your Instagram account and follow the same people you are following on YouTube.

People share different media on different platforms, plus it is a great way to keep those that inspire you in your face.

I am a real newbie to Instagram and only use it for following my Role Models and for business and do not follow any family on it.

When I need a little inspiration I jump on Instagram and bam, it is like a quick shot of mojo.

Need More?

Next, if you want to know more about a specific Role Model go to their website and join their mailing list or see if they have a blog. This is a great way to know them at another level.

Don’t try to create your go-to list in one sitting, I have been working actively on mine over the last year.

While Anthony Robbins still inspires me I have found that others at different levels of success help me as well.

I encourage you to make this a work in progress for you as well, eventually, you may remove some people that just don’t seem to be a good fit anymore, as you grow so will your Role Models.
